What is eGiving? eGiving is the term coined to represent the use of electronic means to process your gift. This could be through the use of a credit card, a debit card, or Automated Clearing House (ACH) which deducts directly from your banking account.
When will VANCO and eCatholic giving sites be turned off? While there is no specific date for deactivating the accounts, we hope to have all users have migrated to the ParishSOFT site by the NEW YEAR - 2027.
My VANCO and eCatholic contributions are working fine. Why are we changing? We recently upgraded to new parish database that works best with ParishSOFT GIVING. The goal is to streamline our process by reducing from three to one giving platform.
I want to do this but I’m not comfortable with computers! Can someone help me? No problem! We can walk you "step-by-step" through the process. Just contact the office and arrange for someone to assist in setting up your account.
Will the parish still allow giving by envelope? Yes, of course! Envelopes are and will continue to be a major part of individual giving for the foreseeable future, although eGiving is gaining in popularity. Roughly half of our parishioners use envelopes while the other half (but in growing numbers) use the eGiving option.
How does the ParishSOFT GIVING system recognize me in the Parish Database? If you are a register parishioner, when you establish an eGiving account, the system will automatically match your information to your account in the parish database.
Will my contributions through GIVING appear on my Annual Contribution Statement? Yes! All contributions that can be identified with your information (Cash, eGIVING, check, etc.) will be entered into your parish contribution account. Loose cash is certainly welcome but if you take the time to put it in an envelope with your name, contact phone number or email address it will be credited to your parish database account as well..
Can I modify my GIVING amount and frequency once it is established? Absolutely! You can enter your account and make changes at any time. We can assist you if you are not comfortable doing so.
Is the system secure? Yes! ParishSOFT uses the most up-to-date security and fraud prevention features and methods. The parish itself undergoes an annual assessment of its data handling practices known as Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance. That said, it is advisable to always guard your information against potential fraud. Unfortunately, fraud can and does occur in almost every aspect of life.
